Matt Lewis, PGA
biopro@clintoncc.net Matt Lewis has been the Head Golf Professional at Clinton Country Club since the spring of 2004. As the Head Professional, Matt coordinates the Riverboat Days Amateur and the Gateway City Pro-Am. He also organizes quality member and non-member golf tournaments. Matt is an experienced teacher who has a true passion for the game. He enjoys teaching all ability levels and helps to not only improve their game, but learn to enjoy the game of golf. Matt's previous experience includes being an assistant at two top ten golf courses in Minnesota, Interlachen Country Club and Somerset Country Club. At these facilities he coordinated numerous State Amateur Events, successfully ran their junior programs and managed the daily operations. At Interlachen Country Club, Matt was fortunate to have mentored under the National PGA Golf Professional of the Year, Jock Olson. While in Minnesota, Matt was also the Section's Assistants Chapter Board President. Matt played collegiate golf at the University of Minnesota and Iowa State University and competed on the North Florida Tour. |

The Golf Shop staff places a high importance on providing outstanding service to the membership. This includes providing the members with a fun and enjoyable atmosphere and supplying a variety of quality merchandise at competitive prices. The staff spends many hours analyzing, discussing and selecting the products that we feel that our customers will want. If we do not have a product that you want, it can be special ordered.
The Golf Shop will offer a number of quality golf clubs including Titleist, Cobra, Callaway, Ping, Taylor Made and Cleveland. All clubs can be custom fit to each individual. The staff will work diligently with you to find the proper equipment to allow you to play your very best.
Winnings from club golf events are usually in the form of golf shop credit. This is money that is to be spent in the Golf Shop. Golf Shop credit will be zeroed out after October 31st.
Clinton Country Club offers club storage for their members. This convenient service provides the member with a place to store their clubs. The golf shop will also label the golf bag with a bag tag, put shaft labels on the clubs. The clubs will be pulled and placed according to the walking or riding preference one hour prior to your scheduled tee time. After the round of golf or practice session, the clubs will be cleaned and put away. Cost for this service is $75 for adults and $37.50 for members' children.
Clinton Country Club offers driving range privileges for their members. This convenient service provides the golf balls to practice or warm up with. There are areas for full swing and short came work. Cost for this service is $105.00 for a member's family and playing guests for the entire year. Individual bags cost $4.50 per.
Riding golf cars are available for rent. Each golf car is equipped with two seed and soil containers. To aid in the healing process of the turf, we ask all to sprinkle the seed and soil around the outside of the replaced divot.

Lockers are available in the Women's and Men's Locker Rooms. The cost is $50 per year. If interested in renting a locker, please contact the Main Office.
Golf lessons are available to both members and non-members. Please contact Matt at the golf shop for more information.
Handicapping is a way of equalizing golfers of different abilities. The handicap computer is located just outside the golf shop. All scores must be posted in the computer. Ladies or juniors may have a nine or eighteen hole handicap, while men must have an eighteen hole handicap. Handicaps are necessary to participate in Clinton Country Club events. Before you post your score in the computer, make sure that you adjust your score using equitable stroke control. The golf shop staff will assist you with the equitable stroke control if it is new to you. All posting of scores are the responsibility of the individual golfer and is done on the honor system.
The Junior Golf Program starts in late June and concludes in the middle of August. Please contact Matt at the golf shop for more information.

- Help juniors learn to play the game to the best of their ability. The juniors are taught skills, rules, etiquette, and basic strategies.
- Contribute to the personal development of each junior. Players should learn social skills, emotional control, and other positive character values.
